Renovation assistance, what does it mean ?
For many people, the step to buy a house that needs to be restored is really a step too far. And I can imagine something about that. After all, you will have to deal with different regulations, the language can be a problem and how does that actually work with a geometra? On the other hand, I have also clients that are enthusiastic handymen themselves and they can't wait to get started with their own building themselves. But also for this category the same questions often apply: what can or cannot be done by yourself during a renovation? And is the involvement geometra really necessary for everything? The answer to this is not easy to give because it strongly depends on the object in question. And at that moment the consultant can help you out.
Permits
A renovation in Italy often means a lot of bureaucratic hassle that we are not used to in the United Kingdom. For example, the geometra, a construction technician, is an indispensable link in the process. The geometra knows the building regulations like no other and indicates to what extent the wishes of the customer can be realized. He also knows exactly what kind of permits must be requested from the municipality. It may very well be that for cases where no permit is required in the United Kingdom, this is slightly different in Italy. Good contact between geometra and municipality is of fundamental importance.
Preparations
The construction supervision in this phase consists of interpreting during the client's meetings with the geometra, architect and contractor. During these sessions, all possible matters are discussed in detail. It also discusses what can and can be done by the customer himself. The geometra maps the wishes of the customer, measures the house and makes a detailed list of all activities based on the number of square meters. This list is translated and discussed with the customer.
During the construction works
Often the customer cannot be regularly present at the construction site. A lot of contact is done by e-mail and via Whatsapp. However, extra activities that weren't mentioned in the original quotation are always communicated by e-mail and then approved with a signature, to avoid misunderstandings. In this case, the interpreter acts as an intermediary. The building is regularly visited to personally monitor the progress of the work, to take and send photos. Any matters that are not correct are identified and communicated to all parties. Construction supervision is an extra security so that you can start a restoration in Italy with confidence.
